Pasteurization of beverage cans
The company Xolutions GmbH, at home in beverage and plastics technology, uses the MPIII data loggers of the DataTrace series for the exact determination of temperature and pressure curves within beverage cans.
These measurements are essential for reproducing the temperature curves of pasteurizers (tunnel pasteurizers) in the beverage industry on a laboratory scale, thus providing developers with valuable insights.
Recording temperature and pressure changes
The configured MPIII loggers are placed directly into the beverage cans. These are filled with strongly cooled, carbonated water and sealed with XO-ENDS, a special sealing system.
As very high temperatures are reached in pasteurization processes, strong temperature and pressure changes occur within the can. These are precisely recorded by the DataTrace data loggers. The measurement data can be used to obtain important information for improving the product and making adjustments.
High-precision measurement data and results
A self-sufficient logger system is required to accurately display such pressure and temperature curves. The MPIII data logger is therefore very well suited for this area of application and measures even the smallest changes within the cans during pasteurization. Only because MPIII loggers enable measurement in a completely closed system can pasteurization on a laboratory scale be precisely adapted to the industry. The temperature/pressure gradient can now be changed by continuously adjusting the temperature levels on the pasteurizer so that the conditions prevailing in the can correspond exactly to the processes in the industry.
"The MPIII loggers are essential for our field of application and offer a high degree of reliability and quality."
