Effective Solution for Transport Damage Cost Reduction
Our shock indicators identify and indicate mechanical shocks. They can, for example, be attached to fragile, sensitive or expensive goods during shipping. This ensures that such equipment is handled carefully during shipping and that proof of damage as a result of incorrect handling can be obtained. The shock indicator provides a visual signal whether or not the allowed G-value has been exceeded.
Our shock indicators are tamper-proof devices that turn bright red in the event of an impact. If the transported goods are exposed to severe knocks and shocks above the permissible G-value, the surface tension of a liquid breaks and changes the color of an indicator. Thus, it can be clearly demonstrated if shock events occurred during transport that may have damaged the product. For the carrier, a clearly visible shock indicator is also an effective reminder to handle the package properly and with the required care.

If the transported goods are exposed to severe knocks and shocks above the permissible G-value, the surface tension of a liquid breaks and the indicator turns bright red.
Highlights of our shock indicators:
- Incontestable evidence of incorrect handling or improper storage
- Visual deterrent against improper handling
- Reduces incorrect handling during transport and storage
- Forces the recipient to check the content before accepting it
- Confirms the suitability of the respective packaging

Which shock indicator do I need?
Our shock indicators are available in five versions with different G-force sensitivities. These are identified by different colors:
- Green = 100 G
- Orange = 75 G
- Red = 50 G
- Purple = 37 G
- Yellow = 25 G
This selection guide serves as a first orientation.
Select the required G-value according to volume and weight of the goods:

Accessories for Shock Indicators

Warning label (included free of charge when ordering)
A warning label that is attached to the package, notifying the carrier and recipient that the shipment is being monitored by an indicator.Length x width: 203 x 146 mm
Companion label (included free of charge when ordering)
A separate label indicating that monitoring is taking place, and instructions on what to do in the event of a red indicator.Length x width: 76 x 25 mm

Placement of shock indicators
Rule of thumb
- Always place labels on the right-hand side of the shipment.
- The heavier the shipment, the lower you should attach the label
Place the shock indicator 30 to 60 cm from the bottom of the box and repeat the process on the opposing side, so two indicators are placed diagonally opposite to each other.

Shock indicator 50 G (red)
For small shipments
Place the shock indicator in the upper right corner of the package
For large shipments
Place the shock indicator 30 to 60 cm from the bottom of the box and repeat the process on the opposing side, so two indicators are placed diagonally opposite to each other.
Shock indicator 75 G (orange) and shock indicator 100 G (green)
Place the shock indicator in the upper right corner of the box.

1. Select the most suitable shock indicator
2. Select the most appropriate placement for both indicator and warning
3. Place the shock indicator on the warning label
