Fast Peak Function
The MSR145 measures and records values at a standard 50 Hz (50 samples per second), which in some cases may not be fast enough for acceleration measurements, particularly for shock events, which can progress very rapidly. Using the Fast Peak function it is now possible to measure rapid events with 1kHz (1,000 samples per second), while still recording the minimum and maximum values (peaks) measured during the sample interval up to 50 times per second. This newly added feature allows the MSR145 to be used for simple and effective shock monitoring.
For more demanding shock monitoring applications we recommend the MSR165 data logger, as it samples at an even higher frequency of 1.6kHz, records every shock event and thus delivers its user detailed findings. It can also measure larger forces, using its optional 200g sensor. As an added bonus, the MSR165 records 32 samples before a shock event even occurred, so that a detailed analysis of the results can also include historic data prior to the event.
