Warehouse Validation (Mapping) and Continuous Monitoring
The first question asked when procuring a new system for thermal validation is often "What downtime will we suffer and what set-up is required ?"

Thermocouples - questionable and inaccurate
While it is common to validate pharmaceutical warehouses with thermocouple these are inefficient, difficult to maintain and their accuracy reduces significantly with every use. Thermocouple systems are expensive and time consuming to set-up. They are based on sensitive thermocouple wires which need to be installed throughout the facility interrupting the warehousing processes, and generally require an experienced validation expert and a diligent approach to achieve the required accuracy. Pre- and post-calibration are a must due to the fragile nature of the thermocouples which are easily damaged.

Vaisalas compact VL data loggers combined with „vLogVL“ software allow fast set-up (typically by a single staff member) without having to distribute thermocouple wires and the need to protect them during the project. The Vaisala System offers high accuracy, is available as a single integrated package and enables complete validation of the warehouse without interruption of the day-to-day operation.
The same data loggers that were used to validate the warehouse can then form a fully automated 24/7 warehouse monitoring system, including alarm notification via PC, e-mail or cell phone. Installation is easy and can be achieved in different ways through LAN, LAN with PoE or W-LAN.
