MSR165 data logger in use on Discovery Channel
Man vs. Wild (also known in Germany as "Ausgesetzt in der Wildnis" or "Abenteuer Survival") is a spectacular survival documentary series hosted by Britain's Bear Grylls.
In the series, the experienced adventurer Grylls is sent to some of the most remote places on earth to show viewers how to survive there. Always on hand: experts to assess the risks and protect Grylls.
Man vs. Wild is primarily broadcast by Discovery Channel - the world's No. 1 documentary channel with approximately 1.5 billion viewers in 170 countries. The episode in which the MSR165 data loggers were used was filmed in the most remote fjords of Norway in October 2010. The MSR165 loggers were used on two occasions: the first was to measure the acceleration to which Grylls' body was subjected when he jumped from a helicopter over a fjord and landed in the water with his parachute. The data loggers were attached to the adventurer's body for this purpose. Man vs. Wild also used the MSR165 loggers for a shoot in the forest to measure the acceleration forces of animal traps, the construction and effect of which Bear Grylls demonstrated in the show.
