Intelligent solution for measurement tasks in the laboratory and in the field
If you want to record temperature, humidity, pressure, light/brightness and acceleration or movement at the same time, you usually have to use several different data loggers. The MSR145 data logger promises a more efficient solution.
The design of the miniaturized measuring device allows the use of a wide variety of sensors. Up to five standard sensors in one data logger - barometric air pressure measurement, temperature monitoring, humidity control, measurement of light and brightness as well as acceleration and movement control in all three coordinate axes - are available internally. In addition, up to four analog inputs (0 to 3.0 V, 12 bit) can be connected to external sensors such as conductivity, flow, viscosity, pH sensors and many other sensors for physical and chemical measured variables. The memory capacity of the mini-logger is over 2,000,000 measured values. Thanks to its robustness, the MSR145 can be used almost anywhere, both in the laboratory and in the field.
Minimizing safety criteria during the transport and storage of chemicals
The transportation and storage of sensitive goods usually entails a high cost and safety risk. The shelf life and usability of pharmaceuticals and medical products, as well as chemicals and foodstuffs, is often only guaranteed under certain temperature ranges and physical conditions. In many cases, it is essential to monitor the products or chemical components over the entire period from transportation to use. The MSR data logger provides the user with a complete information system for critical products right up to their use and can therefore easily prevent situations that are hazardous to health and costly. The liquid-tight version of the MSR145 Analog is particularly suitable for applications in the medical, animal feed and food sectors. It is possible to start - and optionally stop - a series of measurements on site using a small liquid-tight button on the device. However, thanks to the integrated real-time clock, the data logger can also be started at predetermined times or event-controlled when definable limits are exceeded or not reached. The measuring device can also be very useful for monitoring clean rooms, for example, in order to check critical variables such as pressure, differential pressure, temperature or relative humidity. Thanks to its small format and robust design, the MSR145 Analog is ideal for monitoring data on moving objects or objects that are very difficult to access, such as a centrifuge or other medical devices.
Autonomous measurement in the laboratory and in the field
Laboratory tests (e.g. drug tests) and outdoor surveys (e.g. plant monitoring, animal monitoring) increasingly have to be carried out under defined environmental conditions. In most cases, it is extremely time-consuming and cost-intensive to install stationary systems specifically for this purpose. With an MSR145, air pressure, humidity and temperature can be recorded simultaneously at any location, for example in a laboratory under an extractor hood. The internal acceleration sensor (50/s to every 12h) with its three-axis sensitivity also enables the recording of vibrations and resonance phenomena, which could also have an influence on the expected measurement results. This is relevant, for example, for surveys in which vibrations and loads have to be recorded (movement monitoring, monitoring of machines, buildings, bridges, etc.).
Problem-free time measurement
The MSR145 can be used to carry out long-term stability tests on complex machines in continuous load tests. This is done by observing disturbances caused by electric drives, motors or other exciters, for example when monitoring the pressure on a device with pneumatic valves. Thanks to the internal battery power supply, autonomous measurements are possible over a period of up to six months. The very low weight of the minilogger (16 g) can be of decisive importance here, as it can also be worn comfortably without being bulky. Movement monitoring, not only of people but also of other living beings, is often only possible with the MSR145.
Software validated for pharmaceutical and medical technology
Easy to use, fast and precise - this is how Wendelin Egli, Dipl.-Ing. HTL, Head of Development, describes the free data acquisition and analysis software supplied with the MSR145. All measured values can be quickly transferred to a PC both during the measurements and afterwards via USB. The software for the MSR data loggers passed the validation of the Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis at the first attempt (CFR 21 Part 11).
Briefly:
The 20,000 hours of research and development work have paid off. The MSR145 data logger is a practical, flexible measuring device for a wide range of measurement tasks in the field and in the laboratory and, with its four integrated measured variables, additional analog inputs, 2,000,000 measured values storage capacity and small format, has advantages that can also be used in laboratory, process and medical technology, the chemical industry and biotechnology.
